Paul Robb, ex integrante do grupo Information Society e do recente Think Tank, e Barbara Cohen, ex Little Lizard e Farm Accident, são conhecidos desde 1981.

Review - CDNow (original)

With Brother Sun, Sister Moon, Minnesota natives Barbara Cohen and Paul Robb have formed one of the better female-singer/maletechie collaborations since the Euryshmics. Robb, founder of the synth-popping outfits Information Society and Think Tank, and Cohen, whose previous solo album was steeped in dark folk-singed sales, have updated their sound (and image) in a project that is likely to reach a wider audience than either artist previously attracted.

Although Cohen has ditched her former folkish persona, she thankfully continues to sprinkle an occasional Middle Eastern flavor to the mix, something which remains part of her signature sound. On both "Havana" and "Bangkok," The Great Game's strongest tracks, Robb's trip-hop wizardry and Cohen's electrifying voice are enhanced by Arabic/Hebraic modal flourishes that spring from both synthesizer and chanteuse. Both Robb and Cohen take songwriting credits and are equally talented at generating poetic and intriguing lyrics. The album's title track, penned by Robb, initiates The Great Escape with the phrase, "Here is wisdom not in books/God sends the meat/The Devil cooks," lines which are sung by Cohen as if she'd found them in an ancient holy text. Also cheek out "Cairo" and "Kilronan," a choice candidate for a spy-thriller soundtrack.
